Dr. Anthony Gualtieri is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in total joint replacements of the hip and knee, revision total joint replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and fracture care. Dr. Gualtieri has trained and practiced extensively with all of the most recent technologies being utilized in hip and knee replacement surgery. He believes that by leveraging the newest technologies with the most minimally invasive surgical techniques, patients can recover from their surgery better, faster, and stronger.
A native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Gualtieri received his B.S. from Bucknell University and then graduated with honors from Medical School at Columbia University in New York City. He then completed his residency at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, one of the oldest and most prestigious Orthopedic Surgery Residencies in the United States. After residency, Dr. Gualtieri moved to Boston where he underwent fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at the New England Baptist Hospital. Dr. Gualtieri then worked on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where he was the first surgeon in the area to perform Direct Anterior Total Hip Replacements and use the MAKO Robotics Platform to assist in Revision Total Knee Replacement Surgery.
Dr. Gualtieri moved to Houston in 2024 with his wife, who is a Gynecologic Oncology Surgeon at MD Anderson Cancer Center. They are both very happy to have escaped the winters of New England.
