Anterior Hip Replacement

Unlike traditional hip replacement surgery, anterior hip replacement surgery involves an incision in the front of the hip. With this approach, our surgeons obviate the need to cut through ligaments and muscles.

Anterior hip replacement surgery causes far less trauma to the patient; accordingly, our surgeons at INOV8 Orthopedics in Houston can perform the operation on an outpatient basis.

Our own Dr. Stefan Kreuzer is one of the world’s leading experts in this type of surgery. The hip replacement anterior approach offers the best patient outcomes and facilitates fast recovery. In fact, many of our patients can walk unassisted within weeks of their surgery. Since your supporting hip muscles and ligaments will remain intact, you are less likely to suffer a major setback during recovery.

During the procedure, our surgeon will make an incision in the front of your hip, carefully remove the damaged tissue and joint, then install your custom-made prosthetic joint. The surgeon will ensure the prosthetic fits and you have range of motion before closing the incision.
